The basis of outreach at SOTV is the Great Commission
We believe that the Great Commission was not a suggestion but
rather a command from Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We feel that
this commission is directed towards all members of our church
body, not just the pastor or a select few who have a passion
for reaching souls for the Kingdom.
With that in mind, every ministry, program, event, church
service, function, etc. of this church strives to ask: "Is what
we are doing here helping to reach the unsaved?"
As we grow up in His Word we strive to grow out with the
Gospel message, growing together as brothers and sisters of
Christ.
 The Witness Rock Initiative
The Witness Rock Initiative
places an emphasis on personal evangelism. Its function is to
serve as a weekly reminder for participants to share the
message of God's love through Jesus Christ with those people
they come in contact with each day. To find out more, visit

Prayer Walk In
the Community
On Monday, July
9th at 6:30pm and Mon. August 13th at 6:30pm we will embark on a prayer
walk/drive in WDM and to lay a blanket of prayer in certain
areas. During the prayer walk in the fall, over 15 people walked/drove around key areas in town
praying that Christians would be "the salt of the earth" in
these areas. SOTV is making a goal to blanket the entire
western side of Des Moines. If you are interested in getting a
walking route to walk in your own private time, please stop by
the church and pick up a route from the bulletin board in the
narthex and walk on your own, then turn it back in to the
church office.
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who
bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings,
who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
