Pastor Krueger serves as our Associate Pastor and oversees our Adult Ministries. He has a passion for reaching those that don’t know Jesus and a heart to “Go and Tell”. He married Ernie in 2015 and enjoy traveling. He has two grown children, Trish and Troy with grandchildren here in town.
Pastor Lincon Guerra serves as our Missionary Pastor and has lead our Hispanic Ministry since 2014. As a missionary and community leader, he is serving through spiritual guidance, discipleship, leadership development, family and personal support, organizing ESL classes, community events and reaching out to the Hispanic Community with the Gospel. He was born and raised in Panama City, Panama, Central America. He is the son of Panamanian Missionaries Rev. Lincon Guerra Sr and Mrs. Mariela Guerra. The Guerra family came to the U.S. as missionaries in 1999. Lincon and Noemi were married in 2001 and they have three children: Joash, Lincon Aaron and Lizzie Noemi.
Marilyn Shults serves as the Director of Family Ministry at SOTV. As the DFM, she directs Sunday School, Midweek, and Milestone ministries while having an emphasis on Family Ministry and discipleship. Marilyn has the ability to serve people wherever they are in their life cycle and faith journey. Marilyn is known for her care, her smiles and hugs as she supports, encourages, and strengthens families and individuals. Marilyn has been married to her husband, Rick, for four decades and has raised 3 children: Julianna, Chrissy, and Alex. They are blessed with 2 grandchildren.
Angie Spann wears many different hats here at SOTV but prefers a fedora if you really want to know. She’s been raised by this church (baptized, confirmed & married) and considers this her home. Overseeing the contemporary worship service along with the band and music department she still finds time to “chill” with our AWESOME high school youth. She is married to Dannie and they have four children: Jacob, Jasmine, Jacey, Jacqueline. The Spann family also includes their dog Charlie.
nDeaconess Noemi Guerra was born and raised in Panama City, Panama, South America. She is the daughter of the Panamanian missionaries, Rev. Luciano Vega-Ayala and Dr. Brenda de Vega-Ayala. The Vega-Ayala family came to the US as missionaries in 2000. Noemi married Rev. Lincon Guerra on 2001, and they have three children: Joash, Lincon Aaron and Lizzie Noemi. Noemi served as a Sunday School teacher at St. Paul Lutheran Church from 2000-2001 in Houston, Texas. She then served as music director at Christ for all Nations Church in North Carolina from 2001-2004, followed by serving as Sunday School coordinator and music coordinator at CFC Lutheran in Houston, TX from 2004-20012. Noemi has served as a Spanish and Religion teacher at Mt. Olive Lutheran School in Des Moines, Iowa since 2013. She graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 2013 and received her first call as a rostered LCMS church planter deaconess at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in West Des Moines, IA in 2014. Noemi is very passionate in serving the Lord and her neighbor.
Director of Early Learning Center (ELC) & Kindergarten
Diane Hensley graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a BS in Elementary Education and an Endorsement in Remedial Reading. She joined the staff in 2004 when she began subbing at Shepherd’s Flock and then became Assistant Director. In 2007 Diane became Director. Diane is married to Chuck and they have three boys: Adam, Eric and Owen, all alumni of Shepherd’s Flock. As a longtime church member, Diane feels blessed to work at her church AND school where her boys got their great start, long before she was on staff.
Diane Green grew up in Northwest Iowa and has lived in Des Moines since the late 1970s. Her previous work positions included many corporate and associations jobs, but this is her second church position doing bulletins and helping staff keep all their ducks in a row. Diane and her husband, Bill, have been married 36 years.
Sharon Bauer serves as Director of Office Finance. She brings years of experience working at various public, non-profit and private accounting jobs. She is responsible for contributions, payroll, and various other finance related duties. She and her husband, Bill, have been members since 1992 and have raised two grown children, Chris and Sara.
